Tips & Tricks #47 – Out of Balance Inventory Inquiries

Incorrect quantities for “On Purchase Order” or “On Sale Order” appear when performing an inventory inquiry.

  • This problem is resolved by rebuilding the application sort files for the appropriate module and and answering the question “Would you like to recalculate open PO/SO quantities in the Inventory Masterfile also?”

To run this utility, perform the following steps:

  • Select Library Master | Utilities | Rebuild Application Sort Files.
  • Choose Purchase Order or Sales Order.
  • Input your three-character company code and select the Rebuild Button.
  • Answer Yes to all the questions.

About the Author

Senior Consultant, Laura Cordova has been an important member of the BCS ProSoft team since 2006. Laura grew up in Juarez, Mexico and came to the U.S. to attend college. She got her BS in Computer Sciece from UT El Paso and remained in the U.S. to work in the accounting and business management field. According to Laura, “I love my job because every day I get to work with new clients and help solve new problems!”

Laura’s family still lives in Mexico and she enjoys visiting as often as she possibly can. When she’s not traveling to Juarez, she loves to read (primarily self improvement books) and also enjoys movies (but nothing scary, thank you!). Spanish is Laura’s first language, which can be a blessing and a curse, “There are many Spanish speakers in South Texas and I enjoy working with them, but I learned accounting and computers in English, so if I’m working with a Spanish speaker, sometimes I struggle to translate the MAS 90 words into Spanish!”
