When you first purchased Sage 100 ERP you were given a couple of options between different versions: MAS 90 and MAS 200. For most small businesses, MAS 90 was the safest option. MAS 200 was designed more for mid-market businesses with more than 20 users. In fact in the past we normally recommended MAS 90 as it was the most affordable of the two versions. However, since the release of version 2013, MAS 90 and MAS 200 are now equal in price. This provides a compelling opportunity for current MAS 90 users to position themselves for growth and take advantage added functionality by upgrading to MAS 200.
What’s the Difference Between MAS 90 and MAS 200?
MAS 90 (now referred to as Sage 100 Standard) is the most common version of Sage 100 ERP used by our customers. The program is installed on a local client server, but is not typically used by companies with more than 20 concurrent users.
MAS 200 (now referred to as Sage 100 Advanced) has all the same features and benefits of Sage 100 Standard. The screens, reports, underlying data tables and functionality of MAS 200 are identical to MAS 90. What’s different is that it adds the benefits and flexibility of a more powerful and scalable server. Processing with the advanced version is offloaded to a Microsoft server so every operation within the program usually runs much faster.
Why Should I Upgrade to Sage 100 Advanced (MAS 200)?
While there’s no rule saying Sage 100 Advanced is a much faster system, we typically see clients look at Sage 100 Advanced when they have 20 or more concurrent users or significant issues with speed. MAS 200 is much faster than MAS 90. For your business, it can deliver significant efficiencies gained in performance and productivity, especially if you have more than one location.
